The Forest Fruits and Rural Nutrition program is a joint initiative between Mulawarman University and Bangor University, and aims to determine the role that under-utilised tropical forest fruits could play in alleviating rural childhood malnutrition.
30% of Indonesian children suffer malnutrition from limited access to micronutrients. The Forest Fruits and Rural Nutrition program aims to determine the role that tropical forest fruits (TFF) could play in alleviating rural childhood malnutrition.
The two year program comprises of four workshops, and supporting fieldwork and laboratory analysis. Workshops will held in Mulawarman and will be attended by academic staff and research students from both Indonesia and the UK.
